Contract Notice and procurement strategy

On 2 April 2013, the Audit Commission announced that it would retender audit contracts awarded in 2006 and 2007 representing approximately 30 per cent of the local public audit market.

The Commission has today published a Contract Notice in the Official Journal of the European Union. The Contract Notice can also be found on the Contracts Finder website

The Commission has also published its Procurement strategy 2013 which sets out the objectives of the procurement and how it will be carried out.

The timetable below sets out the dates currently planned for the key stages of the procurement. This is intended as a guide and while the Commission does not intend to depart from the timetable, it reserves the right to do so at any stage.

Deadline for return of PQQs 8 November 2013
Issue invitations to tender to selected suppliers 9 December 2013
Deadline for submission of tenders 24 January 2014
Approval of contract awards 25 March 2014
Confirmation of auditor appointments By 31 December 2014
Commencement of services 1 April 2015
