Staff salaries

The Government has committed to publish data on the size and shape of public bodies and about the pay of senior public and civil servants. The specific commitments are for:

  • names, grades, job titles and annual pay rates for most senior civil and public servants to be published;
  • organograms for central government departments and agencies that include all staff positions to be published; and
  • the information to be updated regularly.

Audit Commission staff salaries

We have considered guidance from the Cabinet Office and the Information Commissioner on the disclosure of public sector salaries. We do not use the Civil Service grading structure and have concluded that the disclosure requirements on senior pay for the Audit Commission should encompass all staff at Director level and above.

The information has been provided to the Cabinet Office for disclosure as part of the Government’s publication of information, and is available for download below.

The effective date for this fourth disclosure is 31 March 2012. In some cases individuals have chosen to withhold their name from publication, which is allowed under the Government’s guidelines.

The Audit Commission did not participate in the fifth disclosure, based on information at 30 September 2012. The next update will be based on information at 31 March 2013. Information from previous disclosures is attached below.
