Appointed auditors
The Audit Commission appoints auditors to local government and NHS bodies (excluding NHS Foundation trusts) in England. Auditors are either officers of the Commission or private firms.

Directory of audit appointments to small bodies in England
Includes local councils (parish and town councils, and parish meetings), internal drainage boards (IDBs) and joint committees
The Audit Commission also appoints auditors to around 10,000 small bodies. Small bodies are those with annual income or expenditure, whichever is the greater, of £1million or less. Auditors are appointed to all small bodies in a County area. To find the auditor for a small body please select a County area from one of the documents below:
