The Trust promotes external accountability as part of their improved governance arrangements by producing an annual report alongside the annual accounts which meets all the Department of Health requirements and is both informative and user-friendly, following consultation with user groups.
The Trust's annual report is in a newspaper/magazine style to make it more appealing and readable to try to reach a wider audience. The annual report is available in a number of different formats and languages and it is publicised on the website and in the local press.
The information contained within the report is presented in a user-friendly way using charts and graphics as appropriate, to make the information easy to understand. With regard to the Trust’s carbon footprint the report describes what measures it is taking to reduce it and also analyses its performance against their targets. The Trust has also improved their website making it more user-friendly.
The report style chosen and the information presented are done in a way that makes it both interesting and informative to both members of the public and stakeholders.
