National Data Assurance Audit

Guidance on how Trusts use the electronic system to submit updates to the previous local work delivered by the assurance framework.

National Data Assurance Audit

Detailed guidance providing a step-by-step walk through of the national data assurance audits. The audit will cover 200 FCEs, with 100 randomly selected from all PbR activity at the Trust and 100 FCEs from a specialty agreed locally. The audit will review an extended data set and will be undertaken at all acute NHS Trusts and Foundation Trusts.

Follow-up guidance
This aspect of the framework aims to follow-up the progress on the most recent PbR Assurance audit reports at all 167 trusts and foundations trusts. This will cover the most recent inpatients and outpatients audits - which will be from 2009/10 or 2010/11 - and the reference costs audits delivered in 2010/11. 

Directors of Finance at Trusts and Foundation Trusts will receive an email with copies of their most recent action plans. These should be submitted using an online system. Information on how to submit the information is in the guidance below. If additional members of staff require access to the system, they should request this from the PbR Team at PbRAssurance@audit-commission.gov.uk with confirmation from the Director of Finance.
