Area of good practice
Clinical coding leaflet
Background
One of the main requirements to support accurate clinical coded data is for the clinical notes to be clear, concise and contain all the relevant information needed by the coding department. Addressing this is a big task and achieving it even bigger. At Tameside Hospitals the coding manager has produced a leaflet which every junior doctor receives at their induction alongside a talk on clinical coding.
