Orwell Housing Association Limited - Short notice inspection
Orwell has set up a resident forum to help develop the approach to equality and diversity. The Equality & Diversity Tenants Forum has 14 members, and is shaped to reflect the tenant profile and to ensure that different diverse needs are represented. The group has played an important role in developing the Disability Equality Scheme and the Gender Equality Scheme. It proactively monitors progress against the action plans by interviewing officers responsible for delivering them, visiting offices and seeking resident views. The group has been influential in changing things such as the quality of typeface and paper so residents with sight difficulties can easily read any information sent.
