Berneslai Homes has introduced a suite of governance indicators to monitor governance performance in a number of areas. Indicators measure a range of aspects including attendance, the balance of reports for decision, information or discussion, administration, diversity and attendance of the public. They were developed and agreed by the Yorkshire arms length management organisations (ALMOs) and provide a good mechanism to ensure:
- the Board is representative of the local area;
- everyone contributes;
- meetings are properly advertised and administered; and
- business is focused on strategic issues and decision making.
