Released  13 January 2011
Rating: Poor service | Poor prospects for improvement

Summary [Download full report below this summary]

The benefits service provided to customers by Central Bedfordshire Council is ‘poor’ with ‘poor’ prospects for improvement.
The Council is a new unitary authority that came into being on 1 April 2009. The Service has struggled to integrate two former services into one. Processes and systems still require significant work to ensure it does not continue to perform as two districts and customers receive a consistent service.
