The Benefits Service at Hounslow is 'poor' with 'promising' prospects for improvement. Overall, the service lacks customer focus, it is slow at paying people their benefit, and its approach to benefit take-up is underdeveloped. It does not provide value for money and is weak at getting money back which has been overpaid. However, the Council has plans in place that will improve the service to customers.
