On a scale from zero to three stars the Audit Commission inspection team gave the Council a 'fair' one-star rating.  The Council is starting to focus on its customers and is working to improve their access to its services.  The customer contact centre is helpful and provides an effective service.  Information is also available in libraries and on the internet.  But service standards are not available for all services and face to face contact is limited.
