Local government

The Audit Commission works with local authorities and their partners to improve services for local people. We are doing this through our audit, inspection and research activities.

We are also working with our partner inspectorates to deliver annual joint assessments of how well partnerships are working together to deliver local people's priorities. This is called Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA).
