2007/08 was the last statutory period of collection and reporting of the Best Value Performance Indicators. As such, there will be no further updates to the guidance, resources or data available from these pages.
The Single Set of National Indicators (the National Indicator Set – NIS), announced by CLG in October 2007, will be the only set of indicators on which central government will performance manage local government, replacing all other existing sets of indicators including Best Value Performance Indicators (BVPIs). The NIS took effect from 1st April 2008.
