CAA consultations

Consultation on the CAA framework

The second consultation for CAA closed on 20 October 2008. We received over 360 responses from a variety of organisations and individuals. The responses helped to shape the final CAA framework. Feedback from the second CAA consultation.

Joint CAA review procedure

The partner inspectorates consulted on the joint CAA review procedure in May/June 2009. The proposals related to single tier and county councils in respect of joint inspectorate scored judgements for CAA and Audit Commission use of resources assessments.

At the same time, the Audit Commission consulted on its own review procedure. This related to use of resources at audited bodies (other than single tier and county councils) and scored judgements of district councils and fire and rescue authorities for CAA.

Both consultations are now closed. We are currently analysing all responses received. We will use these to inform the final review procedures which will be published on this website in late Summer.

Trialling

Between June and October 2008 the proposals for CAA were trialled in ten sites throughout England. The trials provided an opportunity to test the proposed approach to CAA and help define the skills and knowledge that will be required to deliver it. Evaluation of the trials

Research

The CAA partner inspectorates commissioned Ipsos MORI to develop a programme of research to engage the public in the development of CAA. The research consisted of qualitative discussion groups with members of the public across five locations. Findings from the research.

Previous consultations

The partner inspectorates have consulted extensively while developing CAA.

As part of this consultation, we held a series of regional events. CAA consultation events presentation slides.
