Following extensive consultation with government, stakeholders and local people, the partner inspectorates published the CAA framework. The framework sets out what CAA is and how it's now being delivered.
We have also produced a document which outlines the changes made in the final framework compared to the summer consultation document. The CAA framework changes following consultation paper details where improvements have been made.
On 9 December, the results of CAA were published on the new Oneplace website (external link) .
CAA guidance
The partner inspectorates produced CAA guidance for inspectorate staff to support them in carrying out their assessments. The guidance explains how inspectorate staff have implemented CAA.
We will continue to make minor amendments and corrections and add clarifications during the year to ensure that the guidance is up-to-date and relevant.
A printable version of the CAA guidance is available in pdf form. If you do print off a copy please check the online version regularly to ensure your version is still up-to-date.
The assessment of value for money in the use of resources is part of the organisational assessment under CAA. The Audit Commission has already published its use of resources framework and the guidance to support auditors in carrying out their assessments.
