NIS data
The Audit Commission was commissioned by central government to publish the National Indicator Set (NIS). Previous national performance indicators (the Best Value Performance Indicators - BVPIs) were collected each financial year by the Audit Commission from local authorities. The NIS is mainly submitted by local authorities and partners to Government Departments who provide the data to CLG for submission to the Data Interchange Hub (DIH). The data covers a wide variety of reporting periods which include calendar years, financial years, quarters and monthly data. This makes it difficult to determine when to publish the data. The Audit Commission recognises how useful local authorities and their partners find a complete set of data on which they can carry out their own analysis. We have therefore decided to publish the latest available NIS data from the hub to align with the launch of Oneplace. We will update this spreadsheet as new data for the latest year becomes available.
