The Council has very effective arrangements for preparing and reporting its financial statements in good time, and sees this as a priority. This helps ensure that the published information is timely and so of value to readers.

This achievement is based on excellent arrangements for closing the accounts. A comprehensive closedown plan allocates tasks to named staff with specific deadlines, explains what is required of departments clearly, and list contacts for queries. There is early liaison with the auditor, and working papers are of good quality.
