Mole Valley District Council has well-established consultation arrangements to help it meet financial information needs of relevant stakeholders. The public budget and council tax consultation for the 2006/07 financial year sought views on the provision and contents of summary financial information. The annual report is available in a wide variety of languages as well as large print. The Authority’s website is also speech-enabled, allowing for translation and enabling access to blind people.
The Council published summary accounts in the Mole Valley News Autumn 2005 edition. The commentary in the summary accounts included clear explanations, aimed at members of the public, of budgets, council tax setting arrangements, savings achieved and where the key cost pressures are. The Council posts the summary accounts and annual report to all of its residents and businesses.
