Manchester City Council's processing function for both revenues and benefits is based two miles outside the city centre in Moss Side. The public are still seen at the main council offices in the city centre. The move is of benefit to working parents, who have more time to drop children off at school before going to work - with fewer parking problems when they get there. The Council saves around £150,000 a year as a result of this initiative.
