This is the sixth overview report of the Joint Review Team. One hundred and sixteen reviews have now been undertaken in England. A separate report is being produced this year for Wales, where a total of 14 reviews have been completed.
As well as presenting evidence from the reviews carried out in England during 2001/2, this report also 'tracks the changes' achieved by some of those councils reviewed in the past, and discusses the way they have achieved improvements.
Both reports aim to share the Joint Review Team's analysis and learning, in order to support councils in their efforts to improve. They are written primarily to inform councillors and managers of social care services, but will also be relevant to those working in related areas and interested members of the community.
