Older People - Independence and well-being: The challenge for public services.
This report (published February 2004) summarises a series of five reports that explore the nature of change required from public services in relation to the independence and wellbeing of older people. This covers both the majority who have no need of care services (but who have a wide range of other concerns), and the minority of frail older people who may need support and care.

A series of reports (published February 2004) examining in detail the issues affecting older people.

Older people - a changing approach: Independence and well-being 1.
The first report in this series discusses what independence means for older people and looks at their views on what helps them to live more independent lives.

Older people - building a strategic approach: Independence and well-being 2.
The second report sets out the lessons learnt from a number of communities that are developing a strategic approach to well-being that had the views of older people at its heart.

Supporting frail older people - Independence and well-being 3.
The third report describes the models that exist to support frail older people in the community, which can help improve their health, confidence and quality of life as well as reducing pressure on crisis services.

Assistive technology: Independence and well-being 4.
This fourth report looks specifically at the role of telecare and telehealth in supporting independence and what the barriers to progress are, and makes recommendations for change. View in-depth resources.

The fifth report looks at the support and services provided to carers of older people. View in-depth resources.

Older people - implementing telecare : Independence and well-being 6.
This sixth report was extra research to help increase the impact of Assistive technology.
