Audit Commission cost comparison tool

2 February 2012

The value for money profiles tool has been updated with 2010/11 data. The tool was designed for auditors, but councils and fire and rescue authorities can use the tool to examine what they are spending, and compare expenditure and performance with other similar organisations.

About us

The Audit Commission is a public corporation set up in 1983 to protect the public purse. We appoint auditors to councils, NHS bodies, police authorities and other local public services in England, and oversee their work.

We also help public bodies manage the financial challenges they face by providing authoritative, unbiased, evidence-based analysis and advice.
